WARREN LAIRD FORMERLY OF THIS CITY DROPS DEAD AT COLUMBUS -- Jacob Laird received a telegram about 6 p.m. yesterday from Frank Laird of Columbus stating that Warren Laird had dropped dead.
The deceased was a resident of this city some years ago. He has resided in Columbus about nine years and was foreman in the Coleman & Felber bakery. He was 40 years of age.
Warren Laird was the son of William B. Laird, and has two brothers, Jacob of this city and Andrew of Shelby, and three sisters, Mrs. George Statler, and Misses Amanda and Mary Laird, living. He was married to Miss Ida Tyler, daughter of W.F. Tyler. Mrs. Laird and two sons, aged 12 and 6 years, survive him.
Many of Mansfield's citizens will remember Warren Laird as having been first baseman for the Mansfield Athletics, a baseball team which flourished here some years ago.
George Statler and W.F. Tyler left at once for Columbus and will reach here with the remains at 9:31 tonight. The funeral will probably be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the residence of Jacob Laird of West Fourth Street.
